Author Kenneth Johnson talks about each moment in sacred time is a new beginning in the world, for all of us, renewal being the keyword. 

His workshop at the Wisdom from the Origins Conference: The Mayan Calendar and other Prophesies on the Future of Humanity in Albuquerque, September 13-17 is "On Living the Sacred Calendar."

Don Alejandro Cirilo Pérez, Wakatel Utiw (Wandering Wolf), is Quiche Maya from the highlands of Guatemala. Wandering Wolf serves as: leader of the National Mayan Council of Elders of Guatemala; Day Keeper of the Mayan Calendar; 13th generation Quiche Mayan Spiritual Leader; a founder and Grand Elder of the Continental Council of Elders & Spiritual Guides of the Americas; Extraordinary Ambassador in the Guatemalan government representing the indigenous pueblos; and an international lecturer on Mayan culture.His mathematical provenance extends to the traditional and elegant mathematics of the Mayan Long Count Calendar, which culminates in the Mayan year “Zero,” or approximately 2012 in the Gregorian calendar. Grandfather Cirilo holds the great honor of keeping sacred the teachings, visions, ceremonies and prophecies of the Maya people.

I AC TAH , a descendant of the men of maayab of the eastern part of Yucatan state, come from the lineage TAH CANCHE Baak and AC . Through the teachings of my grandparents and Baak Huchin BEE HAT , I learned that after 5125 years the earth with other planets create a perfect alignment to develop ourselves as beings of light, therefore we live in a historical time to create a conducive new state of consciousness where humans can live in harmony and balance. So, I am currently doing a tour around the country promoting awareness awakening to the return of the Maya foretold by my ancestors.

Leroy Little Bear is a member of the Blood Tribe of the Blackfoot Confederacy. Leroy is the former Director of the American Indian Program at Harvard University and professor emeritus of Native Studies at the University of Lethbridge where he was department chair for 25 years. He has served as a legal and constitutional advisor to the Assembly of First Nations and has served on many influential committees, commissions, and boards dealing with First Nations issues. 

Professor Cornel Pewewardy is a traditional Comanche-Kiowa elder and Director of Indigenous Nations Studies at Portland State University. He talks about the negative effects of education on indigenous culture and language. Re-traditionalization is his term for this shift in education, a tribal approach to education.   He spoke on February 11, 2011 in Portland, Oregon.

Daughter of famed Canadian scientist, David Suzuki, Severn Cullis-Suzuki developed a deep connection to nature at an early age. In this lecture, she discusses her personal evolution as an environmentalist as well as reminding us that we have become so 'disconnected' from the natural world -- that unequivocally sustains us -- that our arrogance and ignorance has put us on the brink of planetary disaster. She provokes us to consider our individual consumptive impact on the planet and to explore ways to reduce our personal ecological footprint.

Raised in Vancouver and Toronto, Severn Cullis-Suzuki has been camping and hiking all her life. When she was 9 she started the Environmental Children's Organization (ECO), a small group of children committed to learning and teaching other kids about environmental issues. They were successful in many projects before 1992, when they raised enough money to go to the UN's Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Their aim was to remind the decision-makers of who their actions or inactions would ultimately affect. The goal was reached when 12 yr old Severn closed a 1992 Plenary Session with a powerful speech that received a standing ovation.

Here she is again nearly twenty years later addressing our understanding or lack thereof about our environment.
