Adejoke Lasisi is an African fabric designer, environmentalist, and founder of Planet 3R and Jokelinks Weaving School. She champions converting textile and plastic waste into innovative products, fostering a fortified economy in Sub-Saharan Africa through sustainable practices like waste reduction, reuse, and resource recovery.

Holding a BA in Economics and an Entrepreneurial Management certificate, Adejoke received a grant from Nigeria's Vice President and was a Top 5 finalist in the Creative Business Cup 2019. She actively volunteers in entrepreneurship and has showcased her unique products globally.

Glenn Jampol, President of Cámara Nacional de Ecoturismo (CANAECO), presented on "The Role and Challenges of Certified Sustainable Tourism..." at the 2010 EcoTourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference in Portland, Oregon. His talk was part of a panel sponsored by The International Ecotourism Society (TIES).

In 1985, Jampol founded Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation and Inn in Santa Bárbara de Heredia, Costa Rica. This "Boutique" hotel, based on early sustainable standards, is now lauded by the New York Times and Conde Nast Traveler as "one of the best hotels in the world." It also boasts 35 acres of certified shade-grown organic coffee, cultivated and roasted on-site.

The panel, "Climate Finance for Climate Justice," was held on Monday, June 23, 2025, during the Global Women’s Assembly for Climate Justice: Path to COP30 and Beyond. Hosted by the Women’s Earth and Climate Network (WECAN) from June 23-28, 2025, the session featured experts from organizations including Third World Network, Oil Change International, Latindadd (Latin American and for the Caribbean Network for Social, Economic and Environmental Justice), and Tax Justice Network Africa.

Organized by WECAN, the Assembly brought together over 125 grassroots and frontline women leaders, global advocates, and policymakers representing 50 countries. Raina Maiga, 16, an asylum seeker, ensures youth voices influence policy, driven by her experience of powerlessness. As Executive Director of Confront the Climate Crisis, an Indiana youth environmental organization, she leads legislative efforts.

Under Maiga, the group co-wrote and lobbied for two state bills (2022-2023) creating a climate solutions task force. They also held Statehouse events, educating youth and fostering legislator discussions. Maiga secured $20,000 yearly grants, removing financial barriers for student attendance.

Though state bills didn't pass, Confront the Climate Crisis now helps students enact local climate resolutions with city councils, adding to ten youth-written resolutions in Indiana, advocated for with Earth Charter Indiana.

Water Protectors at the main resistance camp in North Dakota vowed continued resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) as the camp was largely vacated following a Wednesday eviction order. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and North Dakota governor imposed a deadline, leading to around 10 arrests. Before the eviction, prayer ceremonies were held, and part of the camp was set on fire.

Protectors assert the camp sits on unceded Sioux territory under the 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie. While most left, a couple dozen people remain. This encampment, once hosting over 10,000, was the largest gathering of Native Americans in decades. Construction on the final pipeline section resumed after the Trump administration granted an easement to drill beneath the Missouri River.
