In April 2011, a PR firm representing Dow Chemical contacted author Anna Lappé. They invited her to submit a 60-second video for "The Future We Create: The Future of Water."

This web project, sponsored by Dow, focused on water sustainability. However, the video Lappé submitted was subsequently rejected.

The EarthSayers.tv Special Collection, "1 Water," originated around World Water Day. It features leaders who champion the "One Water" concept, emphasizing water as a unified global resource.

Among these leaders is Alexandra Cousteau, a globally recognized advocate for water quality and policy, continuing the legacy of her renowned grandfather Jacques-Yves Cousteau and father Philippe Cousteau, Sr. In 2008, she founded Blue Legacy International, a not-for-profit project of The Ocean Foundation. This featured speech is part of a TEDx series.

On March 29, 2010, the coalition Keep Nestle Out of the Gorge, led by Food & Water Watch, launched a campaign against Nestle Waters North America. They opposed a proposed water bottling facility in Cascade Locks, Oregon, fearing it would commodify public water resources and endanger native salmon and steelhead.

The coalition argues that such a facility would jeopardize local wildlife. As of April 2012, Food & Water Watch seeks support for a legal appeal to defend Oregon's water from Nestlé. Make a donation to the Crag Law Center to aid this effort.
