Mary Robinson is the former President of Ireland, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and cofounder of Project Dandelion, a woman-led global campaign for climate justice.

This RTÉ interview features Mary Robinson discussing a recent humanitarian mission to Somalia. The former President reflects on the current crisis, comparing it to a 1992 visit. Their conversation also touches upon Ireland's economic challenges and the legacy of Garrett FitzGerald

The "Just Transitions" panel took place on June 25, 2025, as part of the Global Women's Assembly for Climate Justice: Path to COP30 and Beyond, hosted by the Women's Earth and Climate Network (WECAN) from June 23-28. Panelists included gina cortés valderrama (Colombia), Lorraine Chiponda (Zimbabwe), Serena Mendizábal (Canada), Ayshka Najib (UAE), and Margaret Kwateng (USA).

Organized by WECAN, the Assembly convened over 125 grassroots and frontline women leaders, global advocates, and policymakers from 50 countries. Across 25 unique panels, speakers presented diverse visions, projects, and strategies to accelerate a bold and transformative path toward a healthy and just world.

The Global Women’s Assembly for Climate Justice: Path to COP30 and Beyond, hosted virtually by the Women’s Earth and Climate Network (WECAN) from June 23-28, 2025, convened over 125 grassroots and frontline women leaders, global advocates, and policymakers from 50 countries. This forum featured 25 unique panels showcasing diverse visions, projects, and strategies to accelerate a transformative path to a healthy and just world, with interpretation available in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

Among the key sessions was the panel “Healing Justice in the Climate Crisis: Restoring Mind, Body, and Spirit,” held on June 25th. Panelists included Cara Page (Changing Frequencies, Healing Histories Project, Turtle Island/USA), Zainab Salbi (Daughters for Earth, Turtle Island/USA), Dr. Vivian Tatiana Camacho Hinojosa (Ancestral Traditional Medicine, Bolivia), Nina Simons (Bioneers, Turtle Island/USA), and Daiara Tukano (Indigenous activist and artist, Brazil). Stand Down events are crucial initiatives designed to help traumatized Veterans overcome homelessness and reintegrate into society. These three-day gatherings provide essential medical, dental, and legal services, but their primary impact lies in restoring a vital sense of community. Founder Dr. John Natchison aptly describes them as a "drug-free Woodstock combined with Maslow's hierarchy of needs and a family picnic."

With over 300 events across the U.S., Stand Down mobilizes 2,000 volunteers to welcome 1,000 Veterans at each session. Recognizing that Veterans disproportionately experience trauma, PTSD, substance abuse, and homelessness, these events foster the community and connection necessary for them to recover their purpose and passion.
