People of many faiths embrace the idea of "creation care" - taking care of God's gift of earth. Join Jose Aguto and Tori Goebel to hear how their faith guides their climate action, and how you can build relationships with faith leaders in your community. Tori serves as the National Organizer and Spokesperson for Young Evangelicals for Climate Action. She holds an undergraduate degree in communications and political science from Gordon College (B.A. '16) and a masters of environmental law and policy from Vermont Law School (M.E.L.P. '19). Tori spent 4 years as Communications Director for YECA and the Evangelical Environmental Network, YECA’s partner ministry. Tori was born and raised in New England and currently lives in the Boston area. Catholic Climate Covenant collaborates with Catholic organizations and across sectors to advance the Church's call to love and care for God's creation, our vulnerable neighbors, and all people, including those we may view as adversaries. Prior to the Covenant, Jose worked for the Friends Committee on National Legislation, the National Congress of American Indians, EPA's American Indian Environmental Office and the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. -Despite its historic role in American life, the U.S. Supreme Court has served a surprisingly impactful policymaking role in the United States over the past decade. Starting in 2011, when Republicans gained control of the House of Representatives, until this March, Congress enacted hardly any major legislation outside of the tax law President Trump signed in 2017. In the same period, the Supreme Court dismantled much of America's campaign finance law, severely weakened the Voting Rights Act, permitted states to opt-out of the Affordable Care Act's Medicaid expansion, weakened laws protecting against age discrimination and sexual and racial harassment, and held that every state must permit same-sex couples to marry. This powerful, unelected body, now controlled by six Republican presidential appointees, sat at the center of American political life, a trend that will likely continue, with profound impacts on the country's political system and civic life. Ian Millhiser, Vox's Supreme Court correspondent, tells the story of what is likely to come from the Supreme Court in the coming years, particularly around significant divisive issues such as abortion and affirmative action. Equally important, Millhiser also explores the arcane decisions that the Court can use to fundamentally reshape America, transforming it into something he believes is far less democratic by attacking voting rights, dismantling the federal administrative state, ignoring the separation of church and state, and putting corporations above the law. The circular economy is an economic model focused on eliminating waste and inefficiency and promoting greater resource productivity. The carbon footprint of wasted food is approximately 3.3 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) released into the atmosphere on an annual basis. The shift to a circular economy is not only about managing waste—it presents a new economic paradigm for rethinking how we design, use, and reuse our resources (both products and services), with an estimated economic output potential of USD $4.5 trillion per year by 2030.

The COVID-19 pandemic showed in many cases all the drawbacks of the present economic model- the linear economy (‘take-make-dispose’).
