On November 12, 2020, the Reconciling Ways of Knowing Forum, with the Victoria Forum, hosted "Millennia of Experience: Drawing on Indigenous Knowledge in Responding to COVID-19." This dialogue explored how Indigenous knowledge and science can improve public health outcomes. First Nations communities notably experienced significantly lower COVID-19 infection (1/4) and mortality (1/5) rates.

Speakers discussed how Indigenous Peoples leveraged millennia of experience from past pandemics, using sovereignty and traditional medicines to protect communities and foster resilience. The session highlighted how Indigenous approaches mitigated negative health outcomes despite systemic challenges and marginalization, offering lessons for collaboration.

Jill Savery, Head of Sustainability for the America's Cup Event Authority, champions zero waste and carbon neutrality in sporting events. She has extensive experience embedding sustainability into operations for major organizations, including the United States Olympic Committee, London 2012 Olympics, and FIFA World CupTM bid teams.

Savery frequently speaks on sustainability and sport, and co-edited the pioneering book, Sustainability and Sport, with Dr. Keith Gilbert. She was interviewed by EarthSayers.tv in September 2013 during the America's Cup finals in San Francisco.

An International Swimming Hall of Fame inductee, Savery earned a Master's Degree from Yale University and coached athletes for over two decades. Published July 16, 2017, the Ethical Cannabis Alliance (ECA) kick-off event featured Emma Chasen, Ashley Preece, Laura Day Rivero, and Dr. Elizabeth Bennett. They addressed the need for robust labor and environmental standards in cannabis; Rivero shared sustainable practices, and Dr. Bennett discussed political economy. Ashley Preece presented a certification program for labor standards, third-party inspections, and state uniformity. The ECA later merged with the Organic Cannabis Association, forming the Cannabis Certification Council, with Preece as Executive Director.
