A leading expert, Professor May is CEO of the Future Energy Exports CRC and Chevron Chair in Gas Process Engineering at UWA. He directs the Australian Centre for LNG Futures, conducting industry-focused research on hydrogen production, refrigeration, and carbon capture.

Dr. Whitlock, a Regents Professor Emerita at Montana State University and a National Academy of Sciences member, began her Yellowstone studies in the 1980s, analyzing sediment cores. Her work also includes leading the Montana Climate Assessment, which shaped state climate discussions.

Jusen Asuka's talk, "Fall and Rise of Japan’s Climate Policy," addresses the nation's climate policy, which was active only briefly (e.g., the 1997 Kyoto Protocol) before becoming largely inactive. He proposes concrete steps for Japan’s green recovery to revive it.

Professor Asuka is with Tohoku University’s Center for Northeast Asian Studies. He previously directed the climate change group at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES). Holding a Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo and an MBA from INSEAD, his expertise spans energy and environmental policy, and international cooperation.

“The circular economy is more natural than we think,” states our speaker, a Doctor of Science from UNAM’s Institute of Geophysics and a Master in Volcanology/Geophysics from the University of Würzburg. She has conducted extensive research at international institutions across France, Australia, Germany, and the U.S., and worked as a consultant in Germany on environmental remediation and energy technology.

Currently, she is a Professor-Researcher at Universidad Panamericana, teaching engineering and languages.
