Author and aphorism enthusiast James Geary explores the metaphor, a fascinating fixture of human language. He explains how this literary device, used by writers from Aristotle to Elvis, can subtly influence our decisions.

James Poetzscher, a 17-year-old high school student, exemplifies this. He has authored four research papers, mapped global air pollution decline for the European Environmental Bureau (published by BBC, Reuters), and created a global map inventory on his website greeenhousemaps.com. He also built an air quality data portal and writes for major media. James aims to inspire young people to take collective action on these century-defining issues.
