During Climate Week in New York City, WECAN held a virtual public event on September 26, 2024, “Transforming Global Economies: From Extraction to Regeneration in a Just Transition.”

During this event, we heard from global women leaders regarding a Just Transition and innovative economic models, solutions, and frameworks. Topics included community-led initiatives, feminist economics, Indigenous wisdom, beyond-growth economies, and traditional practices of reciprocity with the Earth. This dynamic discussion on emerging, socially just, place-based, and ecologically enriching economic models offered a clear path to a thriving future for all.
