Microbial ecologist Steven Allison explores how diverse microbiomes in soils, oceans, and air are crucial for our planet's chemical balance. He explains their potential to combat climate change, sustain agriculture, and build healthy soils.

Dr. Allison, a Professor of Ecology at UC Irvine with a PhD from Stanford, researches ecosystem responses to climate change and develops mathematical models linking microbial communities, carbon cycling, and climate. Recognized as a UC Irvine Climate Action Champion, he established the Climate Action and Ridge to Reef Training Programs.
