William Sanford "Bill Nye" (born November 27, 1955) is an American science educator, comedian, and television host. Popularly known as "Bill Nye the Science Guy," he is best recognized for hosting the Disney/PBS children's science show Bill Nye the Science Guy (1993-98).

Nye, a former mechanical engineer, has also worked as an actor, writer, and scientist. He continues to make numerous appearances in popular media, advocating for science education.
