Dania, a climate refugee from Aleppo, Syria, realized her family's displacement was caused by climate change. Now living in Revere, MA, she observes similar ignored indicators impacting her marginalized community, prompting her to advocate against climate injustices.

Driven by her scientific passion, Dania mobilizes efforts from a global perspective to local sea-level rise impacts. She works with youth-led organizations to empower young people and people of color, promoting equitable, science-based climate policy.

A recent expedition in Mexico's Gulf of California tallied just 10 to 13 vaquitas, confirming these small porpoises are critically endangered but not yet extinct. Their population has plummeted from 600 in 1997, primarily due to entanglement in gillnets set for the endangered totoaba fish.
