Henry Miller proposes two essential guidelines for local climate change adaptation. First, communities must understand their local hydrographic system (watershed) and its integration with ecological, economic, social, and political subsystems to develop effective planning. Second, clear communication with stakeholders is crucial for education, motivation, and short-term decision-making.

With over two decades of experience in the Mexican countryside, Miller has worked directly with rural and indigenous populations, bridging cultures and organizations to foster community development and sustainable resource management. He directs El Maíz Más Pequeño, a non-profit promoting adaptive governance and ecological territorial management in Mexico. This talk was given at a TEDx event.
