This richly moving, dynamic, wisdom-packed panel will shift your thinking about the role of business in creating a just, equitable, zero carbon future for humanity and all life on Earth. In commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) principles, the inaugural B Corp Global Climate Summit (June 29-30 & July 1, 2021), seeks to evolve the business sector’s collective understanding and practice of Climate Justice and its commitment to human-centered, justice-driven approaches to climate action. With the aim of centering those on the frontlines of climate justice work and those whose lived experiences are most proximate to the challenges at hand, Summit conveners invited a select group of climate justice leaders from around the world to share their views on several key issues about the role of business in taking concrete climate action centered in justice. Their conversation focused on four key questions: 1) What is the most important thing for the business community to understand about the impacts of climate change on your community? 2) Where should the business community be focusing its energy in working on climate justice? 3) What is the action businesses could take that would have the greatest positive impact for your community? The role of multinationals as leaders of the shift towards a circular economy is well documented, but businesses of various shapes and sizes have a significant part to play in the transition. Indeed, small businesses are well placed to innovate and make concrete changes towards the circular economy. However, these companies face a different set of challenges including access to finance, partnering with larger entities, and incorporating a circular economy business model into their strategy. In this broadcast, we are joined by Natalia Agathou from the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB), and William Neale from the Environment Directorate General of the European Commission. We’re also joined by Stuffstr CEO John Atcheson, who will talk about how their business has succeeded in communicating and collaborating with larger organisations to receive investment and form effective partnerships.

On 7 December 2019, C2G convened an official UNFCCC COP25 side event on governing emerging marine climate-altering techniques. Safri Burhanuddin, Deputy for Human Resource, Science & Technology and Maritime Culture at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Government of Indonesia participated in a panel discussion. The research and potential use of marine climate-altering techniques are being discussed in the context of the Paris agreement and the ocean’s role in achieving it. None of these techniques are ready at scale. All pose significant technological and governance challenges, which need to be addressed and require the attention of stakeholders. As part of our work on policy advocacy, CISL launched a report on Critical Raw Materials and Circularity at the European Parliament. This was on behalf of CLG Europe’s Materials and Products Taskforce, a group convened by CISL staff based in Brussels. Our report, #EmbracingCircularity, follows the publication of the EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act in March 2023. Circularity can play a key role in tackling climate change, as it promotes better use and reuse of materials and products. Watch our video to find out more about our event and the report! Mona Khaleghy Rad, due to her boundless interest in basic sciences and astronomy completed her bachelor's degree in physics and continued planetary science for her master's degree. After completing the master’s program, despite of her keen interest in the celestial sciences, she could not be indifferent to the events that threaten human life (from earthquakes and volcanoes to climate change and landslides) and for her PhD, she studied the risk of natural disasters and their effects on human beings. She continued her postgraduate studies on risk assessment of natural disasters. Her academic and professional activities focus on (environmental) data science, climate change and public health. She believes in and is interested in public education. Ms. Khaleghy Rad sees all human beings in one boat and emphasizes on the influencing role of individuals in the destiny of all.
