Joes Segal is a Professor of Cultural History at Utrecht University. His research focuses on modern art, cultural history, and the intersection of art and politics, particularly in Europe, the US, the Soviet Union, and China since 1945. He also investigates cultural boundaries and identity.

Segal authored *East German Material Culture and the Power of Memory* (2011) and *Divided Dreamworlds? The Cultural Cold War in East and West* (2012). He served as a guest curator at the Wende Museum and a guest professor at UCLA, supported by a Senior Research Grant.

Nicholson is optimistic that 8 billion people can live sustainably. The FAO, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and funded by Denmark, is tackling this by promoting sustainable "green" jobs in the agrifood sector. The project strengthens youth skills, supports green enterprises, and engages various partners to empower young women and men in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This fosters decent employment, builds resilience, and contributes to a sustainable agrifood system.

This environmental degradation contributes to a severe crisis for salmon and steelhead across Washington, Oregon, and California.

Hundreds of salmonid populations have been destroyed, and remaining ones are critically endangered, with Pacific salmon numbers down by 98-99%. Urgent action is vital for their survival: protect forests by stopping industrial logging, remove dams and restore aquatic habitats, halt commercial fishing and pollution, and stabilize global warming.
