Prof. Li Zheng of Tsinghua University's Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Development (ICCSD) presented China's nature-based solutions (NbS) progress at the C+NbS annual meeting 2020. China co-leads the UN-initiated NbS coalition with New Zealand. To advance global NbS discussions, ICCSD established the C+NbS platform, supported by TNC, to foster multi-stakeholder contributions.

The ICCSD, a climate-focused think tank founded in 2017, is led by Mr. XIE Zhenhua, China’s Special Advisor on Climate. It provides solutions for global climate and sustainability challenges through research, training, and policy dialogues. Project founders Miles Richardson, Dr. David Suzuki, and Elder Dr. Dave Courchene, Jr. joined the discussion. They connected Dr. Kimmerer's insights to the project's objective: building better relationships across diverse knowledge systems and achieving improved stewardship outcomes.
