This remarkable success, involving captive breeding and tagging, demonstrates dedicated conservation.

Corwin learns about the challenges of protecting North America's largest flying bird, which has a slow reproductive rate. Later, he travels to Massachusetts to assist the Department of Fish and Wildlife in saving the unique saltmarsh sparrow, a species endemic to East Coast habitats.
