John Fullerton, founder of the Capital Institute, transitioned from Wall Street to become a sustainability advocate. Influenced by E.F. Schumacher's "Small is Beautiful," he collaborated with Allan Savory, founder of Holistic Management, to restore grasslands and return carbon to the soil. This work was highlighted in an October 2010 interview.

The Capital Institute seeks to harness capital for a just, resilient, and sustainable economic system. The Savory Institute restores global grasslands through Holistic Management. The Schumacher Society, founded in 1980, promotes strong local economies linking people, land, and community.

A native San Franciscan and former radio/TV host, Griffin will share his passion for radio, which began in 1952 with his first Hopalong Cassidy radio. He'll explore the best and most popular shows, from live nightclub acts to soap operas, detective stories, sitcoms, and westerns. A Q&A session will follow, moderated by Robert Melton for this MLF Arts event.

The book was recognized as one of the best cookbooks of 2017 by NPR, Smithsonian Magazine, and others.

Born in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, Sherman has cooked for 27 years. Through his business, The Sioux Chef, he works as a caterer and food educator, earning acclaim from National Public Radio and The New York Times.
