Research into these techniques is ongoing, discussed within the context of the Paris Agreement and the ocean's role. None are ready at scale, and all pose significant technological and governance challenges that require stakeholder attention.

The panel "Indigenous Women From Brazil on the Path to COP30" was held on June 28, 2025, as part of the Global Women’s Assembly for Climate Justice: Path to COP30 and Beyond. Hosted by the Women’s Earth and Climate Network (WECAN) from June 23-28, this session featured prominent Indigenous women leaders from Brazil, including Secretary Puyr Tembé, Federal Deputy Célia Xakriabá, Jozileia Kaingang, and Watatakalu Yawalapiti, many affiliated with ANMIGA.

Featured on the IENearth YouTube channel, the delegation included Gloria Ushigua (President, Sapara Women Association), Pya Malayo (Secretary General, Indigenous Group Katribu), and Alicia Cahuiya (Vice President, Waorani Nation).

WECAN also launched its “Escazú Agreement Toolkit for Women Land Defenders and Frontline Communities.” This resource offers eleven country-specific guides to help women land defenders navigate domestic laws for Escazú Agreement protections, ensuring their rights and environmental safeguards.
