The "Women for Climate Justice Leading Protection of Water" event, a formal side event of the UN Water Conference in New York City, addressed climate change impacts on global water. Grassroots leaders, water protectors, and international policy experts shared solutions and strategies for protecting aquatic ecosystems within a climate justice framework.

Sarah Goff advocates for a revolutionary nationwide reuse retail system to address overconsumption, waste, and the climate crisis. This system would rival big box stores in convenience and square footage, utilizing existing local resources to eliminate the need for new manufacturing and shipping.

Goff is the executive director and co-founder of The Repurpose Project, a Gainesville, Florida non-profit focused on creative reuse and architectural salvage. Her passion stems from her childhood in the Marshall Islands, where she witnessed ocean plastic pollution and now sees her home threatened by climate change. Her work combines art, science, and a commitment to a better world.

In his TEDxFargo talk, Marshall Johnson, Executive Director of Audubon Dakota and VP of the National Audubon Society, highlights how marketplace choices can help farmers and ranchers conserve grasslands through regenerative grazing. He encourages seeking foods that are better for us and the land, making every day our own Earth Day.

For a decade, Johnson's team has built successful rural and urban community-focused habitat programs. His work in the Dakotas aligns farmers, ranchers, grasslands, and birds in win-win scenarios. Audubon's market-based Conservation Ranching Program now enrolls over 2 million acres across 60 ranches, and he leads the largest urban conservation program in the Northern Great Plains.
