Carlos Lozano, a Peru Young Forest Champion supported by FAO’s AIM4Forests programme, shares his experience as an Indigenous leader promoting forest conservation, climate action, and sustainable livelihoods in his community. He was part of the 2025 Young Forest Champions Peru cohort, bringing together 50 young leaders globally selected to restore forests, monitor ecosystems, and protect vital landscapes. Through mentorship, capacity-building and cutting-edge technologies such as remote sensing, they are gaining the skills to create lasting impact.
